I want to take a moment to thank everyone who came out to compete and participate in our Girls Gone Rx DC 2016 event today.  It was a huge success for a number of reasons to include the weather cooperating and the sun shining for most of the day, as well as the amazing female athletes who came out to have some fun and put in some serious work for a great cause.  The energy in the gym was electric. But mostly for all the amazing volunteers/judges/sponsors who came out to support this event.  Without their hard work we could not have done it.  Not only did we run on time, we finished early!  I will take that for a win any day.  Our team of volunteers worked like a well oiled machine and I couldn’t have asked for a better crew.   We are truly blessed with an amazing CrossFit Kingstowne family.  Thank you to each of our team captains (Tat, Kerri, Allen, Kristin, and Jordan) and a big thanks to Dan our Head Judge and Emcee and his team of judges.  We lost the microphone during WOD 1 and I know most of them lost their voice today and ran every heat without complaint!  You guys are rockstars. I also want to thank all the amazing sponsors/vendors who donated prizes and came out to help make the event a ton of fun! And thank you to Kris and Lindsey for creating Girls Gone Rx and letting us host this year.  We look forward to hosting more events for you in the future and making it even better the next time around. And finally, thanks to all the amazing people who donated to such an important cause.  We are excited to announce that we have been the highest fundraising event to date this year with over $7200 raised.  The top fundraising team was Colonial CrossFit who raised over $2500.

Congratulations to each of our winning teams:

1st Place:  CrossFit West Springfield – Team TUN

2nd Place: CrossFit Prominent – Team Prominent

3rd Place:  CrossFit Route 7 – The Doughnut Divas

And on a personal note, I just want to say how proud I am of all of our CrossFit Kingstowne athletes who competed today.  We had a group of bad ass ladies, many who were competing for the first time, who put it all out there today.  I saw some awesome PRs by many of you.  I loved watching each of you push and support one another and break past perceived limitations.  Your energy and enthusiasm made my day today!
