I JUST RELOCATED TO THE AREA, BUT I’VE BEEN CROSSFITTING FOR A WHILE. CAN I PLEASE COME TO A WOD OR GROUP CLASS?

If you have prior CrossFit experience of at least 3 months at another CrossFit box you are welcome to drop in for free to one of our regular classes to try us out and get to know our coaches and community.   If you are looking to join our amazing community and meet the minimum experience requirements we invite you to schedule a test out with one of our coaches to begin joining our group classes as a member.  CONTACT US HERE to try out a class for free or schedule a test out.

DO YOU HAVE CHILD CARE?

No, we do not currently provide formal childcare.  Children are welcome as long as they can sit quietly and safely while unattended.

DO YOU HAVE SHOWERS?

Yes, we have one shower available for our members to use.  Please note this is not a locker room.  Our facility is equipped with two bathrooms and one shower room.

DO YOU SELL T-SHIRTS?

We sure do!  

DO YOU TAKE CREDIT CARDS, CASH, AND PERSONAL CHECKS?

We only accept major credit cards.  Master Card, Visa, Amex and Discover Card.

DO I HAVE TO BECOME A MEMBER TO DO PERSONAL TRAINING?

No.  Personal training is available to both members and non-members.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

All you need to do is show up in comfortable workout attire and be ready to have some fun! We will take care of the rest.

CAN I JUST COME TO CROSSFIT KINGSTOWNE AND WORK OUT ON MY OWN?

No. We think you’ll get better, safer, faster results by working with a qualified coach, either in classes or private sessions, than working out alone. We do however offer open gym times during the week, supervised by a coach.

I’M JUST VISITING THE AREA, BUT I BELONG TO A CROSSFIT GYM BACK HOME. CAN I DROP IN FOR A WOD?

What Is CrossFit?

CrossFit is an extremely efficient and effective way to get into the best shape of your life. Our workouts consist of constantly varied, functional movements (like pushups and pullups, deadlifts and squats, gymnastics, kettlebells, running, rowing, and olympic lifting), performed at a high intensity in a fun and friendly group setting.  During each class you will be coached and motivated by one or more of our highly trained coaches.

WHAT IF I HAVE TO MISS ONE OF THE FOUNDATIONS CLASSES?

If you have to miss one of the four Group Classes for any reason, you can easily make it up the following week.  We start a new Group Foundations course every Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m..  On Tuesday nights we run Day 1 of our foundations course and Day 2 on Thursday nights at 7:00 p.m., and Day 3 on Sundays at 10:00 a.m.  So if you have to miss Day 2, for example, you can easily make it up the following week on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m.  If you are unable to attend more than 2 Group Foundations classes, we would encourage you to coordinate a Private Foundations Course instead that is more suitable to your schedule.  You can inquire about a Private Foundations course or schedule one today by CONTACTING US HERE.

WHAT IF I CANNOT ATTEND THE GROUP FOUNDATIONS CLASSES AT THE TIMES YOU HAVE SCHEDULED? DO YOU OFFER A PRIVATE FOUNDATIONS OPTION?

Yes.  We offer a private foundations course for $200 for individuals who cannot attend our Group Classes scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 7:00 p.m. and Sundays at 10:00 a.m.  A private course can typically be completed in as little as one or two sessions and can be scheduled at a time that is more convenient to your schedule.  To inquire about a Private Foundations course or schedule one today by CONTACTING US HERE.

I HAVE NOT DONE CROSSFIT, BUT I’M REALLY FIT AND WOULD LIKE TO SKIP THE FOUNDATIONS COURSE AND JUST START COMING TO CLASSES. CAN I DO THIS?

No. We require all of our new members to attend a Foundations course prior to attending regular group classes.  This is to ensure that all members have a solid understanding of the movements and performance standards we adhere to as well as the terminology we use in our classes to ensure all of members are working out in a fun, safe and effective environment. If you recently moved to the area and have prior CrossFit experience of at least 3 months and/or have completed an on-ramp or foundations course at another CrossFit gym, then you may be eligible for a test out with one of our coaches.  Please contact us if you believe you qualify for this option.

WHAT HAPPENS IN A FREE INTRO CLASS?

Our free intro class is designed with the beginner in mind, however experienced athletes are welcome as well.  We invite you to come in and check out our facility, meet our coaches and members, and learn more about our training program at CrossFit Kingstowne.  During the free intro class you will learn a few simple, functional movements, which we will then piece together into a typical CrossFit style workout to give you a better understanding of how a class might run each day.

I’VE HAD AN INJURY OR SURGERY. CAN I STILL DO CROSSFIT?

While we are not physicians (and we highly recommend you discuss any workout program with your physician prior to starting), we do find that many of our members have successfully used CrossFit to rehabilitate from injuries. We believe the best route to long-term health is to learn perfect form through functional movements, and to slowly build strength in those movements, rather than avoiding them altogether. Our coaches are well experienced, and always happy to work with you to scale and substitute exercises and tailor workouts to your abilities.  That said, we cannot offer you specific medical advice, and advise that you consult your physician before starting this (or any other) exercise program.

WHAT IF I’M REALLY OUT OF SHAPE AND I’M KIND OF TERRIFIED?

We promise you will be ok! Trust us. We’ve had tons of people come in the door at CrossFit Kingstowne who were bigger, weaker, older, or less coordinated than you are today, and they were totally fine. More importantly, most of them joined the gym and are now in the best shape of their lives.  Now lets get you in to learn more about CrossFit Kingstowne and what we can do for you.  We promise you the hardest thing you will ever have to do is put your fears or inhibitions aside and walk through the front door to see what you have been missing.  The rest is easy!

DO I NEED EXPERIENCE OR SOME MINIMUM LEVEL OF FITNESS TO START?

No, CrossFit is for anyone, regardless of your age or fitness level. Everything we do can be modified by weight, reps and time based on your fitness level.  Our members come from all walks of life and backgrounds and include stay at home moms, active duty military personnel, college students, business professionals as well as senior citizens. In short, if you care about health, being a part of a great community, or just want to look and feel better, then CrossFit is for you.   We promise you the hardest thing you will ever have to do is put your fears or inhibitions aside and walk through the front door to see what you have been missing.  The rest is easy!

WHERE IS CROSSFIT KINGSTOWNE LOCATED?

CrossFit Kingstowne is located at 652 South Pickett St., Alexandria, VA 22304 on the corner of Van Dorn and South Pickett St, across from the Modera Tempo Apartment Complex.  We are conveniently situated one block North of the Van Dorn Metro Station and two blocks from the Capital Beltway, on the border of Kingstowne and Alexandria City.
